About the New Zealand BMS
The New Zealand BMS began collecting transect and 15-minute count data in 2024 and is continuing to grow and support butterfly conservation thanks to the efforts of Transect Co-ordinator Andy Barker and Jacqui Knight, who co-ordinates 15-min counts and the annual NZ Big Butterfly Count. These efforts are supported by the Moths and Butterflies of New Zealand Trust.
