Welcome to Ecuador BMS
In this tab you will find specific information about Ecuador's butterfly monitoring scheme, also known as the Red de conteo de Mariposas del Ecuador.
About the Ecuador BMS
The Ecuador BMS began collecting transect count and bait trap data in 2026 and is continuing to grow and support butterfly conservation thanks to the efforts of the main coordinators of the scheme, Sofia Nogales and Keith Willmott.
The Red de conteo de Mariposas del Ecuador is coordinated by the Florida Museum of Natural History (University of Florida), through the McGuire Center for Lepidoptera and Biodiversity. The initiative brings together regional coordinators across Ecuador which belong to the follow organizations: Grupo Green Jewel, Universidad del Azuay, Mariposas de Mindo, IKIAM, Sociedad por la Biodiversidad de la Costa.
