Welcome to Germany BMS
In this tab, you will find specific information about the German butterfly monitoring scheme, also known as Tagfalter-Monitoring. Please note that this butterfly monitoring scheme has its own official website, where you may find additional information.
About the German BMS
Tagfalter-Monitoring began collecting transect data in 2005 and continues to grow and support butterfly conservation thanks to the efforts of the scheme's coordination team: Elisabeth Kühn (Coordination), Martin Musche (Data Analysis) and Alexander Harpke (Data Storage and Database Queries). These efforts are led by the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ in association with Gesellschaft für Schmetterlingsschutz - GfS.
This monitoring scheme collects all transect count data via its official website.
The eBMS website and the ButterflyCount App are only used to collect 15-minute counts and moth trap observations. All the data collected in this manner will be shared with the German BMS and the citizen science project VielFalterGarten.
